Bottle Behaviour

I was wondering if there's any chance of changing the way bottles behave in future releases. I love CrossOver Games and would prefer to use it for more games, but I find the process of waiting for bottles to load before the game starts to be frustrating, once I have a large number of bottles. Similarly, I'd prefer it if CrossOver Games remained a bit more unobtrusive.

There are three features I would love to have are:

  1. Load the bottle only if an application is being run from that bottle. If this is not possible, at least prioritize the bottle order for applications that are loading.
  2. Add an option for CXG to automatically close once all programs are finished.
  3. Add an option for running CXG in the menu bar instead of on the dock.

I know these are all low priorities compared to adding new games and fixes, but they would be great for people who primarily play casual games in short spurts, where wasted time is a factor.

The "bottles take too long to initialize" problem is one that has long vexed us. Rather than setting options for what bottles load at which times, we've chosen to focus on making the entire initialization process much faster (i.e. streamlining the process rather than changing it entirely).

This should be noticeable in CX Games 8.0 (just released!), and will be steadily improving over time.

The problem with that is that it doesn't scale well. By the time I'm up to 10 or more bottles, it still significantly impacts the amount of time it takes to load.
