World of Warcraft crash

I installed wow Lich King (finally) from download. After starting it it will go through the first run animation and then it crashes. and I get this error.

this application had encountered a critical error:

error #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\wow.exe
Excption: 0xc0000005 (access_violation) at 0073:00604ebd

the instruction at 0x00604ebd referenced memory at 0xfa32bca0
the memory could not be written

OK anyone have any idea what happened?

Can you give us some details on what kind of computer you have, and what distro you're using?

I am running Kubuntu 9.04 with the crossover evaluation version.

My computer is
amd\a64 x2 4600 @2.4GHz
2 Gig of ram
Leadtek px8500gt w\512m video card
Biostar tf560 a2+ nf256 am2+/am2 mother board

I formatted the disk and did a fresh install of kubuntu. I started an install of IE7 to get the winxp bottle. But because I didn't want IE on my system I aborted after it made the bottle. I am looking at installing Microsoft office to see if that will work on this system.

I've always been a little confused by this... and I suppose I'll ask about it here.

Why play WoW through Crossover, when Blizzard releases it on Mac?

Same WoW, less critical errors?

*edit: Err, sorry. Didn't see the linux part of the post :/

CrossOver also runs on Linux, but WoW has no native port there.
