Wasn't able to find the info here or via Google. Has anyone (else) tried installing CoH? It seems to install fine, installs DirectX and a few other files but upon launch I get:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\program ...
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library
incorrectly.
I realize it's not (technically) supported but I was hoping with all the game borrowed from Dawn of War it might run (as it runs in VMWare Fusion beta 2).
Company of Heroes is different from City of Heroes. I found several threads on the specific issue, but wasn't ever able to resolve it. Here's hoping Crossover Games 7.5/8 works! 😊
I have the same problem. I just paid $30 for it to not work! Maybe if a staff or someone finds a solution before next tuesday i might just have to buy crossover games fully.
It seems that it is coming along but the game is not yet playable. Although... the test results here are a bit outdated at this time. I would suggest attempting the trial version of CrossOver Games before purchasing it. The trial is the full version... just set to only work for 7 days.
I've just bought CoH "gold edition", hoping that's would work with CrossOver, and I can't even install the game. When I click on "install" an "application error" message appears "Exception EAccessViolation in module gameInst.exe at OOOOOO" (etc etc.).
I've tried to reinstall CrossOver but that hasn't solve anything.
Any ideas ?...

I recently installed Crossover Games and tried CoH. These are the results:
Installed Steam via the wizard, works fine. Steam downloaded and installed CoH/OF.
Using Twinview with two monitors, attempting to run the game would result in a error message "unable to find a working resolution" or something similar. Solution: specify that the Crossover/WINE runs at a set resolution compatible with the game.
Doing that, the game loads up. Plays the movies and attempts to log in. This is where the problem occurs. When logging in, the error comes up "that profile is busy, please try again later" Doing some research on that message, it indicates there is a network problem somewhere. I am able to create a new account, but unable to log into it.
The game was changed with a patch a while back that you have to log into their online server before you can play the single player etc. Seems the next step is to figure out the network/firewall issue (works fine in windows, same machine, dual boot as far as router settings). This is on Ubuntu 9.04.
