The Steam GUI installed without any problems and runs fine (albeit a bit laggy), but I'm unable to install any games. Whenever I try to install a game, Steam successfully "Prepares games files..." or something like that but fails with the message, "The Steam servers are too busy to handle your request. Please try again later," or something to that effect. I know the Steam servers aren't actually occupied because Steam servers function flawlessly on my Windows machine, and every time I've ever tried to install on my linux machine I get the same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I, in fact, have a similar problem. I'm running on a Macbook, and when I click "install game," nothing happens. No lag, no crashes, nothing happens. Any suggestions?
i got the same "server busy message" and its very frustrating because i have two games to download that i just bought but the "server is busy" so they wont download.
