hey, everytime I switch between tf2 and another program (or even when I just start tf2 up)
for some reason it wont recognize any of the actions that im doing on my keyboard in tf2
(i.e. typing a map in or just trying to move my char around)
the mouse works fine all the time, this issue just seems to be related to the keyboard
When you're switching between TF2 and another program, is TF2 full-screen? (and if so, how are you switching back to your desktop?) Or are you running in windowed mode? If you're planning on switching to other apps while running TF2, I recommend running TF2 in a window, where you shouldn't encounter these problems (at least in theory...)
Also, are you using a specialty keyboard, or the standard Mac keyboard?
well i found that if you put it in windowed mode, adjust the settings so it fits your screen and then switch it to full screen and take -windowed out of
the launch properties, it will only show the property bar for crossover (instead of it actually being in a window).
Hm...the problem may lie in the 'launch in windowed, adjust to fit screen, switch to full-screen, take out -windowed' operation that you use to achieve full-screen size while being able to switch to other programs (if I understand your operation correctly).
I'd try launching in a '-windowed' mode small enough that you can still see a bit of desktop around the edges, or such that you're still able to see and manipulate the "jewel" window controls so you can minimize the window, and then leave the in-game resolution and fullscreen/windowed controls alone and see if switching to other programs and back still has the keyboard-amnesia effect.
I have the same problem of Stuart Rubin. Steam worls correctly but when I join a server in TF2 my char don't answer to keyboard inputs. So I have disinstalled and reinstalled crossover game but now when I started TF2 the first time, steam adviced me about the vga drivers that aren't updated (wtf????). Now when I join a server the game crashes with this advice: "Failed to lock Vertex Buffer in CMeshDX8::LockVertexBuffer". For me this is like Japanese. I've tried to launch the game in window wih the "-windowed" string and deleting the string "-novid +mat_hdr_level 0" that was already wrote in the panel. How can I solve? I want to playyyyyy Q.Q.
I have a MacBookPro and i'm using the NVidia 9600M GT on MacOS X 10.5.8
The "failed to lock vertex buffer..." error often means that there insufficient virtual memory assigned to the application for the current action. The typical solution for this problem is to open up Crossover's Run Command menu, select the appropriate bottle, and run "regedit". Inside the registry, browse to
You'll probably need to add VideoMemorySize as a new string value inside the Direct3D folder (you may also need to add the Direct3D folder, or key, in the Wine folder). Set the VideoMemorySize value to the amount of VideoMemory available on your system. Then save and close out of regedit, and try to run Steam games.
