Graphic artifacts question

Hi all,

I was playing sacred last night on my home Mac which is a Mac Pro w/ 8800GT video card in it.

The graphics had some odd artifacts that were horizontal lines on the game screen. They weren't everywhere, and many times were just in certain rendered areas. I assumed it was something with sacred because I know the video card is ok as I play COD4 native on the system, and a variety of games (COD5, Sacred2, Combat Arms, etc.) and tests (3DMark03, 3DMark06) on bootcamped XP without any graphical defects or artifacts.

Today, to get a screenshot of the game for the compatibility DB, I was on my laptop which has a GMA950 video chipset. Needless to say, there are no anomalies in the graphics.

So, at this point I am thinking there is something weird with how the 8800gt driver or interface is working on my desktop. Like I said, I know the card works ok. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of settings somewhere in COG or wine that might adjust this? I should note that I don't see these artifacts in every game, so it may be something specific in the combination of Sacred, COG, 8800GT. I had tried setting in the winecfg to disable hardware rendering and disable the pixel shading and that didn't help.

Any other tips/suggestions greatly appreciated as I can't afford to get the new/great ATI card for my mac pro for a 1 game issue.

The only thing I can suggest for now is to experiment with the in-game graphics settings.
