A while back the orange box games, half life 2, portals, TF2, etc, were working fine. Great.
Something happened, I'm not sure what. Steam tried to update itself, and since then none of the games will launch, half the time all it goes is "Preparing to launch Half life 2..." for example, and then just stops. The other half it goes to a white screen where I can hear the valve music playing, but thats it. No further.
I've tried installing 3 times into 3 completely new fresh bottles and I have the same problem. I'm really irritated that it won't work considering I don't have a windows I can play on.
I can get you some screenshots if you need it. Any help appriciated.

Try to remove the steamapps/<Username> folder, and/or ClientRegistry.blob. Also try to disable the in-game community integration. This doesn't work anyway, and it uses some fragile DLL injection pattern that may silently crash the games.
