EPiC Games Store client BLINKS...

I installed the EGS client via Crossover 19.0.1
According to https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/epic-games-store it works, but it doesn't... The client blinks, making impossible to use it.

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
GTX 970
440.82 stable Long Lived driver
i5 4690K
4x4GB DDR 3 2400 CL11

Hi

did you use the crosstie?

Yes...

This rendering issue could be related to dxvk. Is dxvk running? (right click on your bottle and select settings and check if dxvk is flagged). You can try to install the latest version of dxvk, just click on this link and download the tar file https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/download/v1.6/dxvk-1.6.tar.gz . In your bottle reinstall dxvk and ceck the second tab and select the option to choos your source file manually. If dxvk is not working install this dependencies sudo apt install mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386 libvulkan1 libvulkan1:i386 vulkan-utils , and then re install dxvk. Let me know if the problem is solved

All those dependencies are already installed on my system.... I installed the latest DXVK and it still blinking..

I'm tring to reinstall the crosstie myself to see if I can reproduce the issue, meanwhile could you please send me the log file?

ok I reinstalled the crosstie and dxvk prevented the launcher to work correctly probably an update is conflicting with dxvk so my suggestion is to disable it and check if the launcher is working now. Let me know

It works without DXVK...

By the way, the reason why I created an EpicStore account is because of the FREE https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/close-to-the-sun/home?lang=en-US
Now, the game requires Windows 10 and if the bottle is Windows 7 I don't think it will work.

Hi

I'm uploading my crosstie in order to fix this new issue. In the meantime I can give you the recipe to create your own bottle that suits your need. Create a windows 10 64 bit bottle and install inside it core fonts, net framework 4.8, directx for modern games and dxvk. DXVK it's strongly suggested because without it the application won't start, but it must be disable at the first run and everytime the client update itself. Let me know if this solution works.

When I am installing .net 4.8, it complains with this error:
image

When I click continue, it seems to install successfully...
After installing the Epic client, when I launch it, I can see the login tab... After loggin in, it closes.
This is the error log:

HI

The net framework error is normal, the software is just complaining about windows update, it doesn't prevent the framwork to work correctly so just ignore it. I tried the launcher and it works only in windows 7 mode in windows 10 mode it won't work, some connection error prevent the launcher to reach the online store, please uncheck dxvk otherwise the store won't render correctly. If your game requires windows 10 you can just install it, then open wine config, just below the windows mode selection select add application browse to your game launcher add it and then you can select tu run just your game in windows 10 mode, excluding the other apps in the bottle which will still run in windows 7 mode. Let me know if this workaround works

Running the Epic Launcher in a Windows 7 bottle doesn't allow to install the game.

HI

I think we are on a dead end because windows 10 mode doesn't allow the client to start...

I tried with Lutris with WINE 5.5-2 installed by their script and it works on Windows 10 64bit mode...
The client works with -opengl and the game works with DXVK
The game, Close to the Sun, installs properly but with poor performance, of course.

Obviously Crossover needs urgently an update.

Add the command line argument -OpenGL to the Epic Games Launcher. This allows you to run the Epic launcher with DXVK enabled, because the Epic launcher switches over to using OpenGL API instead of DirectX.

HI,

Is there a way to add this argument to the crosstie?
