18.0 b2 - generally bad
Posted 2018-10-04 07:15
The boasting e-mail from Hana Pagel sounded good. VKD3D ... improvements to wined3d ... DXVK ...
I donated some time to trying it. Heroes of the Storm and Diablo III (Blizzard games) both failed to start with fiery errors.
In comparison, using Wine Staging 3.17 from build.opensuse.org/Emulators, crusty old PlayOnLinux 4.2.12, and manually installed DXVK gets great results.
Seems 18.0 b2 needs a lot more work.
Sounds like things are broken for you - that's just the sort of thing we need to hear about during a beta.
The first useful step is for us to get word things are busted. Another extremely helpful thing is to file reports in our beta center, which lets us gather info about your system, attach your report to internal bugs, and track progress.
We hope that improved game support is a strength of CrossOver 18. Of course we don't expect everything to work perfectly - especially not yet. If you're able to file a beta report in our beta center, that would be helpful to us. Those reports are the crux of what we're looking for from our beta program.
