I'm using 12.5.1 to run Office 2007 and 2010. Both of these programs offer the user to enable automatic software updates. I just wanted to confirm that I should be declining these kind offers from M$.

You can accept, and they wouldn't work! 😋
Windows update isn't implemented in CX, so there's no point to accept. Service packs are installable within the CX installer when available.
