Greetings,

I had this same issue, and found Ticket 784414.  I think I have found a workaround for the time being.  I'm out of my support period, so I can't post in that ticket.

Open the CrossOver Linux Setup:
>Applications>Crossover>Configuration

Choose the affected bottle either through
>Add/Remove (tab) > Configure
or
> Manage Bottles > (select bottle) > Configure

Go to the 'Control Panel' Tab.
Click on the 'winecfg' icon.

On the 'Applications' tab, select 'Add Application...'
Navigate to, or type in the path to your 'WINWORD.EXE' and hit (open).
Click/Highlight the 'WINWORD.EXE' in the panel.
You will now see 'Wine configuration for WINWORD.EXE in the window bar.
Click on the 'Graphics' tab.
Deselect 'Allow the window manager to control the windows'
(Apply) or (OK)

Open Word / Resize Word / Move

Now, you will notice your other apps won't bring themselves to the front of Word.
Repeat the above steps, and reselect 'Allow the window manager to control the windows'
(Apply) or (OK)

Enjoy!

Hope this works as well for you all, as it does for me.

PS: Caron rocks!  Helped me on another bug I had found in the past and borrowed my screenshots for the fix.  *thumbsup*.

Wow, thank you so much!  I've created a Support Library article for this based on your instructions:

It should help a lot of people!

hello everybody!

i am a new user of crossover linux - but i am using wine since two years.

the same bug is present in wine (of course). i dont know if its possible to edit the registry of the office 2007 bottle - if yes, you can try my solution ive published in my wine bug report:

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23805

after changing the respective registry keys: simply avoid full screen 😊
