Mouse slow and jerky when starting cxsetup

I've got three bottles in my CrossOver 12.1 under Linux Mint 14 on a pretty fast computer (i7, 12GB ram, 2xSSD in a raid 0) and when it's scanning through the bottles the mouse seems to jerk/choppy as I move it around. This also happens when I'm trying to play Starcraft 2.

When I start cxsetup I monitor the cpu/mem/net/disk activity and the only thing that stands out is that the CPU hits turbo mode then the power is limited and it's set to the lowest speed which is 1.2Ghz, I've managed to adjust this though to 2.9Ghz as a minimum and it still jerks around so it made me think that it's got something to do with crossover itself. What else should I be looking at?

I can run steam games natively at very high resolutions without a problem so I don't think it's the hardware.
