Crosstie for/with CrossOver

I am considering getting CrossOver for my copy of Ubuntu. I see that there is also Crosstie. So my question is ... is Crosstie free and an "add-on" to CrossOver? I did use CrossOver a long time ago when I thinking about using Ubuntu but never fulfill the move to Ubuntu; getting off of Windows (XP). Thanks. 😏

Crossties are basically things which tell Crossover what to install other than your Windows program- such as Directx, .NET. It also creates the new bottle for you- to use one, you just download the crosstie and select your installer, and let it run.
So yes, you could say they are 'free' and an 'add-on'- you don't necessarily need to use a crosstie, nor will there always be one, but if there is one using it makes life much simpler :)

Have a look here for more info-
