MS Office Word 2012

I have an Excel page that relies on some activeX code for an added feature. In this code they're assiging a variable with CreateObject("ScriptControl").

And this error happens:

Run-time error: '429':

ActiveX component can't create object

  • Any idea?

One thing to note is that the bottle us using win97. Should that be Vista?

I had a trial of Office 2012 run in a WinXp bottle, and it ran fine. It might very well be that the bottle type is the problem, but I'm far from sure.

You can change the bottle type without reinstalling. Use the "manage bottle" tool, then go to the "Control panel" tab, where you'll find a "Wine configuration" entry. With that, on the very first tab, you should be able to change the version of windows, if you look toward the bottom of the window.

For reference...

Vista/7 is the same. Office 2012 does support XP for now also.
