Hi,
I'm using crossover 7.1.0 in Ubuntu. I'm trying to install Adobe CS3 Master Collection. I log into Ubuntu with administrator (root?) privileges and during the install of Adobe CS3, I get an invalid permissions error. I'm still a new to Ubuntu, so I'm hoping this is an easy fix. My end goal is to see if I can use all the adobe CS3 products in Ubuntu. Wouldn't it be great if everything worked?

Sorry to say that the CS3 suite doesn't yet work in Crossover. I believe your permissions errors have more to do with your user settings in Ubuntu rather than Crossover, but there are undeveloped/unimplemented elements in Crossover that will fail on the complex installation of CS3.
