Basic Authentication fails in IE7

I've just done a CrossOver Linux Professional 8.0.0 shell install and installed IE7 without the autoupdate option.

Public websites work as well as can be expected, but any sites returning a 401 Authorization Required header do not trigger the normal popup username/password box as expected but merely display the error page from the server.

I have confirmed with Wireshark that the only two requests to the server are the original which returns the 401 response, and a second one for the favicon (which gets a 404 not found).

Does anyone know of a fix for this behavior, or is Basic Authentication unsupported in CrossOver?

glen.

Edit: That would be 404 Not Found for the second request. Oh, and misspelling "fails" in the subject. sigh

Same problem here

Same problem - no authentication page thrown up and login using default credentials fails.

The reason I want this product is to handle a few wed pages we have to use IE for, but this doesn't work!

Our devs are working hard on the authentication problems with IE7 in Crossover - we hope to have a bug-fix update to Crossover 8.0 by the end of the summer that alleviates these problems.
