Office 2007 installation and wierd proxy problems ... how I solved it

I'm running Fedora 11, 64-Bit with Crossover Professional 8. Currently I'm working on Installing Office 2007.
At work we sit behind a squid proxy, so everything needs to go through it.
I set the proxy in "Advanced Settings" -> "Bottle Defaults" -> Http Proxy. This didn't work through.
The first font download sits there forever.

So I jumped down to a console and ran
export http_proxy=http://wwwmyproxy.bah
cd /opt/cxoffice/bin
./cxinstallwizard

The proxy then worked correctly and I was able to install Office 2007.

Very strange.
Am I the only person with this problem? I've seem plenty of bug reports with the word "proxy" in them.
