My outlook is setup to run in cached exchange mode - our company exchange server is only available within our VPN, so when not within the VPN, it should use OWA to connect.
This was working fine, so far as it goes.
Except last week, I had to change my domain password. Since then, when I start outlook outside of a VPN connection, it just sits there 'Trying to connect...'.
Is there some mechanism which is caching the old password? I assume so, since if I try to access OWA using the IE6 from the same bottle, I get an 'Error: access is denied' message, without ever being asked for my password. Outlook works normally when inside the VPN connection.
It sounds like the proper password change may not have been applied to the "outermost" layer, i.e. for access from outside the VPN via OWA. Please check with your sys admins to make sure that the password was updated across the board.
hrm...have you just a totally clean re-install? I don't think Crossover should be caching old passwords, but if so blowing away Crossover and your bottles should certainly wipe out any of that info.
Been a whiles now, but I feel certain I did a completely clean install - I shall try that again later though.
But one other snippet which might be of interest - the exchange server was recently upgraded to Exchange 2007 - is that a potential candidate for a cause?
