I installed Office 2007 (legit volume licensed) with CrossOver on Kubuntu 8.1 about a week ago. Word, Excel and Outlooked worked great. Then last night it all stoped working:
Word will not allow me to type anything and says "This modification is not allowed because the selection is locked"
Outlook will connect to Exchange, but will not allow replying or new messages
Excel is a similar story.
Some Google'ing made be wonder if MS Office has decided it needs activation (although I've never had to do this before with our licence). Pressing the "activate" button in Word under "Word Options, resources" doesn't do anything - the button doesn't cause anything to happen.
If it needs to be activated then it should throw an Activate Now window up as soon as you start Word/Excel/Outlook. Is it possible that window is hidden behind the Word/Outlook/Excel main window?
Hi,
Re-install has fixed it. I think that when I installed it the first time I may not have entered the licence key as it said I could do it later. Anyway, very strange that Office didn't give any kind of error messages etc, just stoped working after a week.
Thanks for your help
