Steam installs, launches, but won't install any games

I've installed steam and opened it. I am trying to install a small windows-based game called Craft the World, but when i click install it says "Content Servers Unreachable."  This error message happens when installing any game.  I should also note that this same message pops up through Steam on Wine and PlayOnLinux as well.  I have Steam for Linux installed but games install fine, this message is nowhere to be found. It only comes up when I have steam installed via a windows emulator such as Wine, PlayOnLinux, and now Crossover.  Is there anyway to fix this?

Within the bottle you installed steam, in its drive_c, go to
Program Files/Steam/config

Edit config.vdf to add, near the line starting with "CM":

"CS" ";;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;"

This is all on one line. Make sure the indentation at the beginning of the line is the same as the block it is in. You can verify this by a Google search. You'll find references on this forum, and on Wine's forum.

Thanks, at first it wouldn't work because I was accidentally editing my linux version of steam's config file but once I went to browse local files I found the correct one and now my game is downloading!!!! Yay!
