I'm new to the "wine" universe but if i understand properly, i have installed Steam linux client into Crossover, but also all Steam games must be inside that very same bottle? Currently i have this way Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion. But can i have different bottles with different wine versions with custom tweaks for each game? Like for example some game is running better with custom tweaked WinXP bottle, but other is better in Win7 bottle.
You can choose to install the various games and other programs into their own bottles. Sure, if the game needs Steam, you'll end up with multiple installs of Steam. That's how I usually do things.
What you can't do, is have different Wine versions. That's something PlayOnLinux does.
As for custom windows versions / bottle, you can set that per executable. It's actually exactly what I did recently for the Deus EX: Human Revolution crosstie.

Hmm.. i see. I am starting to understand :) I have tried PlayOnLinux, but purchased CrossOver anyway to support it. I know that PoL can use different wine versions, but i´m not sure if it´s actually beneficial for Steam since games must be in the same enviroment/bottle with the same wine anyway..
