No sound in some new installs.....

Ran across this, install Everquest titanium. I have no sound in the game.

Game runs, pulseaudio shows the stream for the game. No audio in the stream at all. This is a fresh install. I have other games that I have installed and they have sound in the stream as it shows up in pulseaudio.

In wine this has a gold so I am not sure why I am not getting any audio thru the stream for it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Actually upon more testing this is since the update to 15.

Apeears that the streams show up but no audio is output thru pulseaudio. In any install in CX.

Make sure that audio isn't sent to some other output. Even if you don't have something like USB headphones, it's possible that your audio may be sent to the S/PDIF output.

Had this weirdness happen to me some days ago. For some reason, I had sound in some games but not in others. Even the ones which run natively behaved like this. Turns out that in my audio settings, the S/PDIF output was selected.

Checked all those. No audio on any thing. It was on the correct output and showed the stream in the pulseaudio outputs. There was no audio just silence. Removed Pulse audio and went to alsa and they all have sound after reconfig to alsa audio. For some reason it does not like to output audio to pulse.

The strange part is I get the test sound out of wine config. I get no sound out of the game unless it is using alsa.

Could you post your system specs and name the distribution you're using?

I think I may have found the issue.

I have libmpg123 installed but it is 64bit version. CX wants a 32bit version. This is gonna hurt.

Added 32bit version no change.

What does cxdiag show?

With those as the only things on RHEL 7.2 missing I have flawless support. Those couple packages are not needed, and also do not exist currently (not going to try and pack them up as its unnecessary). I would see if you are missing any other libraries (specifically the 32-bit variants) as one missing one can be the culprit here quite easily.

cxdiag gives this:

Ok to be fair here I now know the situation. I installed Playonlinux and used a 32bit bottle and a 64bit bottle. The 64 bit bottle had sound. Due to my OS being 64bit (Opensuse Leap 42.1) it now works with sound.
