Updating Point Release When Changelog only mentiones Mac

Hello everyone,

I think the question is already clear from the subject? Does it make sense, or is there any valid reason one should update from say 14.1.6 to 14.1.8 or 14.1.10
because the last two releases only mention Mac in the change log?

Thanks

Denis

I think it's safe for Linux users to ignore these updates. It happens fairly rarely, and we usually try to release with at least some change for both platforms. Sometimes, however, there are critical bugs which need fixing on one platform which we have to release when there's nothing in the release branch for the other platform.

We've done releases that were only for one platform or the other in the past, but that led to people asking why one platform or the other was a step ahead. So there was confusion either way, and now my practice is to keep the numbers in sync and release for both.

If there's nothing in the Linux changelog, you can safely skip the release.

Thanks.
