Fedora 23 and FGLRX - Direct Rendering and other issues

Hi,

I have installed FGLRX 15.12 per a Wordpress guide, located here:
https://bluehatrecord.wordpress.com/2016/03/25/installing-the-proprietary-amd-crimson-driver-on-fedora-23-with-linux-kernel-4-4-6-300

The entire process went smoothly, but there are a couple of issues.

  1. Skyrim from Steam under Crossover fails to launch.

  2. Steam for Linux reports the following error:
    (OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering, which may cause performance problems.
    For more information visit https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9938-EYZB-7457 )

  3. libGL reports:
    (libGL: screen 0 does not appear to be DRI2 capable)
    Debug: http://fpaste.org/346320/85937145/

Here's some information from my system:

[+] cxdiag doesn't show much:
[adm0@y700m385x ~]$ /opt/cxoffice/bin/cxdiag
[MissingLibOsmesa]
"Level"="Suggest"
"Title"="Missing 32bit libOSMesa.so.6 library"
"Description"="This is needed by some games and CAD-like applications to perform off-screen rendering."

[+] Here is a list of installed packages:
http://paste.fedoraproject.org/346347/91889251/

Anyone have any thoughts?

Since development for FGLRX is slowing down on the Linux side (and moving to AMDGPU), support for newer Kernels in Fedora is falling off. FGLRX fails to use the 32-bit libraries for CX support. Anything 64-bit runs fine (Phoronix test suite, Quake 4, etc.).

I have moved to OpenSUSE Leap 42.1 where library support is much more clean, and then entire installation process is very smooth. OpenSUSE has a dedicated developer who maintains support for the driver. See my guide here:
