What 'nix version - are you using?
& what is the PCs H/W spec's ?.
You might want to specify which Steam games too.
I run Skyrim with Steam, to mention just one, and I have no substantial problems. So I'm curious as to the games you want to play.
linux mint cinimon my hardware is 32 gigs of ram, gtx 690 nvidia core i7 cpu, the pc is an alienware auroroa r4, the game is AirMech
Guild Wars 2 is known to fail for most users:

Airmech is untested:

Those specific games aside, often when users have graphical problems (which certainly includes games installed but not launching) on 64-bit machines, it's because the 32-bit openGL libraries for their graphics card aren't installed, correctly. Crossover is a 32-bit app and as such needs to see the 32-bit openGL libraries that your graphics driver would install. It's pretty easy to wind up with a driver install that includes the 64-bit openGL, but not 32-bit, if you're on a 64-bit system. You can have Crossover scan for missing libraries using this tool:
$ /opt/cxoffice/bin/cxdiag --debug
the openGL readout will be towards the bottom. If you see "mesa" or "nouveau" drivers listed, instead of NVidia drivers, you'll need to re-install the proprietary NVidia driver for your system (which should be as simple as using the "additional drivers" tool in Mint? It is thus on Ubuntu, at any rate).
