Unable to activate MS Office 2010: Communication Error

OS: Ubuntu 16.04
CrossOver Linux Version: 16.2.5

I was able to install Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010, but there appears to be some type of networking issue stopping me from activating it. This is the error I see within the application: "A communication error has occurred. Please verify that you have connectivity to the Internet and try again. (0x80072F0D)"

Through googling I found this forum thread that did NOT work for me: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/forum/microsoft-office-2010/?mhl=161598;msg=157131#msg161598

In the past I have been able to work around this in other applications (like Notepad++) by selecting HTTP instead of HTTPS, but in this case Microsoft does not give me an HTTP endpoint to hit.

I would appreciate any guidance or questions that can help fix this.

Thanks!

This is an issue I've seen affecting a few other Linux users. We don't have a solution yet but are working on it. If you open a support ticket at https://www.codeweavers.com/about/contact-us#support we can grab a log file from you and let you know when we have a solution.

Thanks!

Hi
I am having exactly the same problem but on my Mac.
