Many problems installing Crossover on Ubuntu 18.04

Dear readers,
installing Crossover Linux 18.1 on Ubuntu 18.04 runs not very smooth, and even searching the recent documentation, FAQs, especially those related to Ubuntu, and this forum I am stuck at the moment at this error message:
/usr/bin/env: »python“: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden (file or directory not found).
I have added python2.7 after some post in this forum and did
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
followed by
sudo apt-get -f install
Now I wonder what is missing.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi Tobias,

From that error message, it seems that you might not have python installed in a way that CrossOver can find it. Did you try "sudo apt install python"?

Thanks,
Anna

Thank you for your quick response! However, as I wrote, python is installed:

tobias@eurydike:~$ sudo apt install python
Paketlisten werden gelesen... Fertig
Abhängigkeitsbaum wird aufgebaut.
Statusinformationen werden eingelesen.... Fertig
python ist schon die neueste Version (2.7.15~rc1-1).
0 aktualisiert, 0 neu installiert, 0 zu entfernen und 0 nicht aktualisiert.
tobias@eurydike:~$ python --version
Python 2.7.15rc1

What else can I do? It is a clean fresh standard install of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. Thanks in advance!

Same issue here: Fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. Had to apt-get install python, even this distro comes with an later version. It works for me after doing this.
