Hello

I encountered a problem since many time with crossover.
Since version 18 it is impossible to start /opt/cxoffice/bin/crossover

frmadmin@carbon7:~/Downloads$ /opt/cxoffice/bin/crossover
Could not install some Unix packages
Some errors may prevent CrossOver Linux from working correctly:

• Could not load the D-Bus Python modules.
• Could not load the GTK+ Python modules.

You may be able to fix some issues by running one of the following commands as root:
Arch Linux pacman -Syu python2-dbus
Debian 6 apt-get install python-dbus python-gtk2
Debian 7 apt-get install python-dbus python-gtk2
Fedora 13 yum install dbus-python pygtk2
Mandriva /usr/sbin/urpmi dbus-python pygtk2.0
openSUSE 11.2 zypper install dbus-1-python python-gtk

I can start my Windows Office Applications but not to start the crossover UI.
For this, the problem is that python-dbus doesn't exists for my distrib.

E: Package 'python-dbus' has no installation candidate
E: Unable to locate package python-gtk

Also my other problem is that I can not update Crossover to version 20 using sudo apt install ./crossover_20.0.0-1.deb

This CrossOver Linux Debian package cannot be installed on top of a Loki or MojoSetup package.
dpkg: error processing archive /home/frmadmin/Downloads/crossover_20.0.0-1.deb (--unpack):
new crossover package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/home/frmadmin/Downloads/crossover_20.0.0-1.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Older versions of CrossOver (like CrossOver 18) simply won't be able to work on a new distro like ubuntu 21.04 as the packages it needs have been removed.

According to the error message you get when trying to install CrossOver 20, it looks like you previously installed CrossOver with a .bin installer. You'll either need to install CrossOver 20 with a .bin installer or remove the current .bin package to use the .deb installer.

Heads up. I am running Linux Mint 20 Uma, and Synaptic for this distro doesn't recognize the .deb package. Was able to use the command line, though, and install via the .bin. Dependencies were met when I installed my first Win program under CrossOver. Was prompted for the dependencies during install of Win program. Nice work. I'm done trying, and now I'm buying. :)
