Installing Microsimulator Model using GUI and Python

Hello,

I am new to Crossover, and purchased it to set up and run this model from the Department of Labor. on my Mac running Catalina: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/oasp/evaluation/completedstudies/Microsimulation-Model-on-Worker-Leave

I have created a new Bottle, "Paid Leave," but Python is installed in its own bottle. I have also installed MeGUI, since the program establishes a GUI.

I have several questions, because I can't get it to work:

  • I installed the particular Python scripts that I need in the Python folder on my Mac, not in the Crossover Python bottle. Is this a problem? Or how would I install them in the Bottle?
-There are two ways to run the Model: one to execute a file called "Microsimulator.exe", and one to run it using a python command, py Microsimulator.py, which then opens up another file, GUI.py.

I can't either of these to work, and the tips page isn't helping, and Support isn't getting back to me. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

I gave this a try, and the standalone Microsimulator.exe currently doesn't work because of a Wine incompatibility (see https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49334). Using the Python script version may work, but you would need to install everything (Python and the scripts) into the same bottle. The C: drive of a bottle can be accessed by right-clicking on the bottle name, and selecting "Open C: Drive".
