I'm new to this forum, and new to Crossover. Simply put, when I start the app, I receive immediately an error:

CrossOver cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure CrossOver works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

I tried to install XQuartz, but it made no difference.

Throw away your existing Crossover app and the Crossover.zip if you still have that and then redownload Crossover.

I'm also having the same issue. Did just as you said (delete all, then reload), various times, and still get the same error:

Any other suggestions? Does the fact that it's an x86 build mean anything? I have a x64 architecture.

Are you by any chance unzipping CrossOver with something other than the regular unarchive utility that comes with OS X? At least one other unzip utility has been seen causing corruption to the CrossOver zip installer during decompression.

That was exactly it: I was using iZip to unzip; tried the standard unarchive utility and everything worked.
