standard Japanese Font

Hello,
i have some japanese applications that i'd like to run in CrossOver, but the symbols and Fonts are only squares.
I have tried adding all fonts from a Windows installation into the CrossOver application and the mac font folder, but it's not working.

I read somewhere that there is a Japanese version of CrossOver, do i have to buy the japanese version extra?

Or is there any way to display the normal Windows japanese fonts in the english CrossOver?

I searched through the forum but couldn't find a direct answer for this.

Hi,

There's probably a quicker answer to this, but if you're up for
a bit of digging and reading...see;

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply.

I've dugg through most of the japanese-related topics on this board, but found nothing useful.

I did however try Aric's way here:

We of course cannot distribute the Microsoft Fonts. However we have
found an substitute. We make use of the Ume Fonts. Having done a
lot of work in Japan the Ume fonts have served us quite well. Our
Japanese version comes with a font installer that will install these
fonts and set them up. However due to lack of demand and size we do
not distribute them by default with the non Japanese version.

You can however download them here.

jpfontsetup.exe.so is for mac

Tried that, but so far nothing, the characters are still square boxes.
