Team fortress 2 wont work

I open steam then TF2; I can get around the objectives menu on a server, but then it automatically quits! I appreciate any help I can get!

Try adding "-dxlevel 81" to the Steam launch properties of TF2 and see if it helps.

This error is because you run Steam in other language, only in English you can play Team Fortress 2... other error is the dxlevel.
