.FON font installation

I have a program I am trying to run that installs a custom font. The font file ends in .FON which I believe is a Windows 3.1 font file. The file gets installed in "drive_c/windows/fonts/". However, when I try to run the application, I get an error relating to the font not being available.

The Wine manual mentions converting .FON files here: http://www.codeweavers.com/support/docs/wine-user/config-fonts-main but I have not found any information on how to convert it using CrossOver.

Any ideas on how to do this?

That utility isn't in Crossover, but there should be some native Mac apps that will convert the .fon file into a modern truetype font. Check out http://www.fontlab.com/font-converter/transtype/ as a possibility.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
