I just switched to mac from linux and with crossover office 6 on linux I could just run an small app by double clicking on it and not installing (there is no install). Is it possible to do this with crossover on mac?

You have to create a bottle first for sure.
It should work on Macs too. However, there may be another application claiming to handle .exe files, like unpackers dealing with self-extracting zip archives or Parallels/Vmware. You have to tell MacOS to open those files with CrossOver.
Otherwise, there's the Programs->Run command dialog which you can use.
Thanks for the reply. I tried that and got an error which I tracked down to a missing DLL, after adding that to system32, I get: Run-time error '429' ActiveX component can't create object. With this in the log:

Its wierd this little app ran fine with crossover 6 in linux.
