Control Panels disappear after Z: drive mapping is removed

A CrossOver 15.1.0 bottle's control panel disappears after the Z: drive mapping has been removed and CrossOver has been restarted.

Here's how I found the problem:

  Launch CrossOver
Create new Win7 bottle named "test"
Run Wine Configuration and remove the Z: drive mapping
  Quit CrossOver

  Launch CrossOver
  Select "test" bottle
  Control Panel is now empty!
  Quit CrossOver

You can restore the control panels by manually restoring the Z: drive mapping and then restarting CrossOver:

  ln -s / ~/Library/Application\ Support/CrossOver/Bottles/test/dosdevices/z:

Seems like a new bug...

This is a known issue with Crossover. The underlying problem is a longstanding issue in Wine where we can't access files outside the bottle unless there is a drive letter mapped to a parent directory of the location of the file we want to access. That causes control panels maintained by Crossover to become inaccessible when Z: is removed.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for explaining.
