CrossOver Support - Community Forums

Hi - I have to use Microsoft's Internet Explorer if I want to access my bank through the Internet (as I understand because of ActiveX). If I want to use Safari or Firefox I have to use an 'ActivCard' (sort of a mini code-machine), and that just seems so much more a hassle. Especially my wife thinks that…

So now I’ve downloaded the trial vers of CrossOver for Mac, installed the IE6 – and it just works beautifully ☺ I’m impressed.

A couple of questions remain though;

1) Is it a safe setup for netbanking – or are we now exposed to all the dangers from the pc world? Because we have a Mac we don’t use antivirus software etc. (which I suppose we have to reconsider, not least as Macs are getting ever more popular).

2) My wife and I have each an account on the same iMac. Do we have to buy two versions of CrossOver or can we use the same?

1) It's safe for netbanking as far as we know. Most of the virus/trojan threats to PCs rely on low-level Windows commands being available and Crossover doesn't replicate those commands.

2) You can buy one copy of Crossover and install it on multiple accounts, but only one can be in use at a time.
