I am new to Crossover. I have installed Office 2002 and the apps seem to work. I can't figure out how to connect to my network server though. When I choose to Open File from (Crossover) Word and choose "Desktop" in the dialog, I see:
/ (slash)
My Computer
My Documents
My Mac Desktop
If I dig into My Computer I see:
drive_c
/Users/myname
/Z
None of this seems to show me my network mounts. If I click My Network Places in the dialog it gives me an error.
So how can I access my network files? I'm running Snow Leopard server on a Mac Mini. I am currently connecting wirelessly. Thanks!
Mac OS X presents two different views of the file system, one through the Finder and Open/Save dialogs, another to Unix-y programs. CrossOver has a Unix-y heritage, so it sees the latter view. In that view, mounted volumes, including network shares, are in /Volumes -- that is, within a directory called Volumes at the base of the file system. In Windows programs running under CrossOver, that's typically mapped to Z:/Volumes.
