I primarily use CrossOver Mac for using Newsbin Pro, and it's been really good at running that program. Currently I have 6.62 installed in an XP Bottle. However, today I looked for updates to Newsbin Pro and noticed that the 6.70 Betas are saying they will no longer run on Windows XP (or Server 2003) systems.
In preparation, I'd like to make certain CrossOver is ready for the eventual 6.70 stable release.
I'm running CrossOver Mac 15.0.1. Is there a way (or even a need?) to upgrade an XP Bottle to a newer version (7 or 8)?
There isn't a "real" upgrade to be done, but there is something you could do.
Go to the bottle's control panel, and use the "wine configuration tool". Right on the first tab of the tool, you'll see a combo box that will allow you to change the bottle version to whatever you want/need.
Perfect, thank you! Worked with no issues; everything seems to be acting the same as it did when the bottle was an XP type. Big test will be when the final update for Newsbin Pro 6.70 comes out soon, but at least I'm ready for it!
