When playing Mirror's Edge in Crossover Games, the mouse doesn't
"lock" during gameplay.
Explanation: When trying to look around levels, the cursor keeps me
from having full 360 degree freelook. When the cursor (which isn't
visible in-game) hits the left or right side of the screen, the
character won't look any farther to the left or right.
Is there any way to fix it?
Hi,
You will always do better when posing questions like this about a specific game,
using the actual forum for the game's compatibility database here...see;
http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=5075;forum=1
In that way, any questions/solutions related to the game itself, are all 'in the one
place' for other users to quickly resource....
...What you describe however, looks like the infamous 'mousewarping' issue again,
and having a peek over at the WineHQ AppDB entry for this reveals...;
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=15303&iTestingId=44457
quote: "Use FBO and mousewarp override. It's a UT3 engine game so same settings as
Bioshock and UT3 apply. There is some sort of sound issue with the new OpenAL support.
I set my copy to use native then builtin."
That suggests you have to try adding registry keys using regedit - OpenAL sound issues
might still be a problem in the current COG wine build - we'd probably be looking at
COG 9.0 or better before the new openal supports in wine-devel filter through. The best
page I know of the details specific windows registry keys that wine cares about is...;
http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys
The keys mentioned above are
/Direct3D/OffscreenRenderingMode
/DirectInput/MouseWarpOverride
Hope this helps, but if you need more assistance -please- create a new thread on
the Mirror's Edge forum (if it does work, you might think about posting there to
let other know of the workaround?)...
Cheers!
