IE6 transparent windows

Although I wouldn't consider myself computer illiterate, I am lost when it comes to the intricacies of the platforms and programs. I am new to Mac, number one, and have no previous experience with Windows virtualization. Can anyone help me with my dilemma?

I have to use IE6 to answer my internet leads for my job. So far I have managed to get everything to work in my switch from PC to Mac except for this one program which is vital to my computer usage. I downloaded the CrossOver trial and because I didn't buy it, they won't provide tech support. I can't buy it unless I know it is going to work. On IE6 I am running a Customer Relations Management program which is obviously antiquated and useless in the first place. I have found CrossOver to be genius (I was not about to pay for Windows and Parallels just to run crappy old IE6 for work). However, the CRM system I am using (Nettrak) uses a ton of pop ups to change statuses and set appointments and view leads, etc. Everything is working except for two buttons and I don't know why. When I click Status Change, a box pops up where my options should be, but it is transparent and I can't click anything. It's the same with Appointments. These two buttons are so critical to what I'm doing that it is making this software useless right now. Are there any fixes for something like this? Can anyone help? Please I am going crazy here! ☹️

Ooo, I have a question. Where do we imply/say we won't provide support? I'd like to change/fix the wording to let people know they can simply email us and we'll help them (that it might take a little longer for a response, but that we will help).

For the record, we typically try to help anyone out who is using CrossOver, whether they have purchased support or not. This is especially try for new users like yourself who need additional guidance on getting things up and running.

My hunch is that the site you are using is heavily laced with ActiveX controls and that some of them are not working properly with CrossOver 8.x. We have done work on this and have had a bit of success. Sometimes we can get a site working, sometimes we cannot.

First suggestion is to get a patched version of CrossOver 8.x, one more suited to run IE6. That is available here:

http://dl.codeweavers.com
access code: ie6build

For the Mac you will want the first build (the one that ends in .dmg).

Next, once you have installed IE6 into a bottle, you should add a few more things to help those ActiveX controls along a bit. First, the 'Flash 9 ActiveX Component', then the 'Microsoft Visuall C++ 6.0 Redistributable' package and finally the 'msls31' package.

"That sounds easy but I don't see those packages":

We want to make CrossOver as simple as possible... so we hide a lot of the Service Packs and Dependencies. All you need to do is re-enable them:

Go to 'CrossOver' and choose 'Preferences'

Select 'Installer Assistant'

Uncheck 'Hide service packs and dependencies'

Close the 'CrossOver Preferences' window

Open the software installer (the list should now be much longer).

If you need more help, please email info@codeweavers.com. We are very interested in issues with IE6, especially if the above things don't help a site become functional.

I poked around and tripped across this:

I know y'all talk to everyone so maybe it does need to be rephrased
😇

Ugh, that's ugly. I have rephrased it... it'll probably be a few days before it's live (holiday season and all...).
