Anyway to incorporate Boot Camp into the picture?

Hey, new to Crossover, but a few years ago when running Wine on Linux I remember that it was possible to point it at a Windows install if you had a dual-boot machine to supply more DLL and whatnot. Is that possible with Crossover for Mac if I've got a Boot Camp partition? Just trying to test some software (Revit) for Crossover and seeing what possibilities there are therein. Thanks!

The general answer is no, but we're working on it.

A longer answer is this: You can of course run a .exe file from the boot camp partition with CrossOver, this will get a few apps working. However, you have to bear in mind that MacOS has to be able to write to the partition. However CrossOver cannot import the registry yet, and that will cause issues with many apps. Wine once could import a Win9x registry, but we removed this feature after Winxp became common.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
