Installation / inserting full version CD for verification

I read the FAQ and Codeweavers hints that this is not doable but I want to make sure. I'm trying to install an upgrade version of a program that wants me to enter the previous version CD for eligibility verification during the install process. I'm on an intel 24" iMac. CrossOver won't let me eject the current CD to insert another because it is "in use".

Is there a way to do this or am I just wishing?

Many Thanks for any tips,
Frank B.

You might find a workaround by searching for your app on We can't comment on CD verification issues because of legal implications.

Thanks Andrew. I'll do that.

i have no idea if this would work, but you could try using an external cd/dvd player. that way you could have both cd's in at the same time. i use an external firewire lacie dvd player all the time with my imac and crossover, simply because it is more convenient to put cd's in the external drive than the imac's slot loading dvd drive.
