EVERQUEST II (EverQuest 2) help, I got messed up graphics. : ( (Intel Graphics 4000)

Hey, been using Crossover Version 14.0.3 (14.0.3.28476) for quiet a while now and successfully installed and played DDO, and some steam games. I've been trying to run Everquest II for a while now and looked all over the forum for the solution to the problem I had earlier which is the direct3d out of vide memory issue which apparently a lot has encountered. Having dealt with that issue through changing the registry and setting the value I successfully ran the game but the graphics are all messed up. I know there is a thread discussing this issue and it ended up discussing Runes of Magic.

Whia. Looks like texture coordinates are wrong, probably projected textures are used even though they should not be. But that's just a wild guess...

So far I can only give you the generic hint of trying to set UseGLSL = disabled if you haven't already.

Okay, tried it. Same results.

btw here is my registry on the Direct3D folder, took a screenshot of it.

Thanks for replying btw :D

I tried to reproduce this and found a demo of this game. Unfortunately the demo does not work because it tries to load additional files from Sony's servers and the servers seem to be down.

Do you know if there is a working demo download that shows the bug?

Never mind, I noticed we have a game account and already have a bug filed for the intel GPU issue.

do you mean you're filing the bug to sony? or do you mean something else?

I tried reading the official everquest II forums and found out that windows users are also having problem with the direct3d issue that I had in the first place and sony didn't give a **** about it so they fixed it up themselves coming up with various solutions. I hope sony does something about this intel gpu issue though.

by the way stefan you're being helpful so again I say thank you so so much!

What I meant was that we have a bug for this in our own bug tracker : https://www.codeweavers.com/support/bugs/search/?bug_id=12640 (I think you should be able to see this, the bug is not marked private)

The issue is that the Intel driver replaces the texture coordinates when drawing solid triangles with GL_POINT_SPRITE enabled. I'll file a bug in Apple's bugtracker for this. Unfortunately Apple is very slow when it comes to fixing issues like that.

Alrighty, I get it now. okay so I would have to wait for Apple to fix the bug T.T
I know there are lots of ppl like me waiting for the bug to be fixed, I think haha

in the mean time I'm gonna try installing Dragon's Prophet, which is rated Gold in CrossOver but not yet installable via CrossTie, any tips?

*sorry for being off topic.

Yes, you will most likely have to wait for Apple to release a fix. We may be able to work around the bug on our side, but usually we try to avoid such hacks because there's always the danger that they break other games.

No idea on your other application. I've never heard of it ☹️ .

Looks like texture coordinates are wrong, probably projected textures are used even though they should not be. But that's just a wild guess..

It's point sprites. The issue is that the Intel driver replaces the texture coordinates when drawing solid triangles with GL_POINT_SPRITE enabled. I filed a bug with Apple in march, bot so far they only asked me to re-test with newer OSX versions and didn't bother beyond that...
