Steam Lego Worlds black screen after launching game

Hey all, new to the forum and crossover here. I installed crossovers on Catalina 10.15.3. I installed Steam, which worked just fine, then installed Lego Worlds which also installed fine as far as I can tell.

When I click to play Lego Worlds, a full screen window pops up that is black, I see the mouse cursor there for a bit, then it just crashes/closes the black screen. Nothing else happens. Anyone know why this would be happening?

@Jason

Hi, and welcome to the forums.

More than likely it is trying to use DX11, which is currently not fully supported yet.
Some troubleshooting suggests to force Lego Worlds to use DX9 for its graphics.

I was curious so did a Google search and found this on the Lego Worlds Reddit.

NOTE: I edited the drive and filepaths in [FIX 2] to relate to Crossover bottle locations.

Lego Worlds Troubleshooting Guide

This is a basic troubleshooting quick reference I put together based on what is out on the Steam forums and personal experience.
I hope it helps and feel free to comment with any others, links or otherwise and I'll add to this.

BLANK SCREENS OR GAME WONT GO FULL SCREEN

[FIX 1]
Open Steam

2) Go to Library

3) Right-click on Lego Worlds game in your list and select "Set Launch Options"

4) In this line type '-dx9' (What is inside the single quotes) and click Ok.

5) Launch the game and set your resolution in the game options.

_

[FIX 2]
Open [ drive_c in your Steam bottle ] and navigate to:
drive_c:\Users\crossover\AppData\Roaming\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGOWorlds

2) Open pcconfig.txt and change the following options:

ScreenWidth 1280
ScreenHeight 720
WindowWidth 1280
WindowHeight 720

3) Save the file.

4) Launch the game and now you should be able to load it and also should allow you to alter the resolution to what you need.

** NOTE **

I had to also change the DirectX Version to DX9 in order for this to work.

The resolutions above are what the DEVS suggested, I set it to MY monitor resolution of 1680 x 1050
and it > gave me full screen with the following settings also needing to be changed.

  WindowLeft 0
  WindowTop 0
AspectRatio 3 <-- Sets Aspect ratio to match resolution instead of you specifying.

Hope that helps in some way.
