I'm running a game through a Windows XP bottle, and it's just very slow in certain interactions. Animations that appear on screen take forever, making it hard to play the game. The mouse also moves very slowly. Is there any way to fix/improve this?

@aliciakw
Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Which game is it and what system specs does it require?

I'm running into this problem with a few different Nancy Drew games, all of which use specs similar to this:
Operating System:
Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10
Minimum System Requirements:
400MHz Pentium
64MB RAM
300 MB hard drive space
16-bit color graphics video card with at least 16MB of VRAM
16-bit Windows-compatible stereo sound card
12X CD ROM
Mouse and Speakers
