Hi All,
I used the included installer script for Spelunky Classic, and while the game runs, it does so at ~10 fps with ample frameskipping. Given that this game is from 2008 and could run at 60fps on a toaster, I'm betting that something is wrong.
Anyone have any ideas?

For anyone stumbling onto this in the future
I dropped SpelunkySD, a fan update, into the Spelunky(2008) bottle created by CrossOver and it runs much, much better. It has a handful of bug fixes + multiplayer, so overall better anyway.
To map controls/change options, check the readme - it's all handled in game by various chat commands and hotkeys now.
