Steam freezes at start Mac Air M1

I installed and logged into steam through the crossover, but after restarting it no longer starts and freezes at the stage of connecting to the account
Steam may freeze on login form, steam guard form or connecting to account form.
What I did

  • Install latest crossover version
  • Install Steam via crossover to Windows 7 64 Bottle
  • Log in installed steam
  • Relaunch Steam

What have I tried to do

  • Reinstall Steam
  • Install to other bottle (Win 10)
  • Install Steam from EXE file from steam website
  • Reinstall Crossover
Has anyone already faced this problem?

When I get this problem, I launch macOS native Steam which seems to clear up extraneous files, etc from a Steam crash. Then close down native macOS Steam and try launching CrossOver Steam again. See if that works.

Hi

I have had this same issue. To workaround it start steam using -tcp. If your install is default then you can use "run command..." to create a launcher like this:
"/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/<name of bottle>/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steam.exe" -tcp
This forces TCP every time and has never failed me.

Codeweavers are aware of this issue and it will be fixed in 21.2.0.

I found this thread https://www.codeweavers.com/support/forums/general/?t=27;msg=254419 and try -udpforce
And it works too
Thx all

Using the -tcp option I can at least login, but every time I go to install a game I get a connection timeout. Any ideas.
