It worked! Now it doesn't anymore..

Hi!

I've been trying to get Devil Whiskey, an old windows game, to run on my MacBook (Tiger, 10.4.9), with CrossOver Games it finally worked. Everything went swimmingly until I quit the game for the first time and then wanted to play again. Now the game freezes while loading and I only get the white X screen.. I tried everything, re-install game, even re-installing CrossOver, still the same problem... But it worked before! What's wrong? It drives me mad..
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Wipe out the bottle the game was in and create a new bottle and reinstall the game. Then before you run the game the first time make an archive of the bottle just in case this happens again.

Wow, I re-installed the game a thousand times and it didn't work, but after archiving it, the games loads... Thanks for the tip, Andrew! It's a bit temperamental though, sometimes it runs, sometimes it doesn't. But I guess that's because it's an unsupported game?

There's a patch for this game, how would I install that? Just into the same bottle the game is in?

UPDATE: Spoke too early, the game rarely runs, only after trying 10-15 times... Most of the times it loads the white "SDL_app" window and hangs.. Any idea how to fix this?

Try installing the DirectX package (you may need to show service packs and dependencies in your preferences to see it) into the bottle with the game and see if that helps.
