I just got a new MacBook a few days ago. I have been using a PC and have been happily running Quicken 2008 on it. I have both Bootcamp and VM Fusion on my Mac but I have to purchase Windows in order for it to work and in order to be able to run any PC programs.
The only thing I want to do is run Quicken PC on my Mac because I have seen and heard how bad Quicken for Mac is (although I have heard the new Quicken Financial Life for Mac coming out this summer should be better....) But in the meantime all my data is on Quicken 2008 PC SO....
I managed to get Quicken 2008 working on my Mac using Crossover, BUT when I download from my Suntrust Bank account, it does NOT recognize that I have Quicken on my computer so it just downloads a file and does not connect to and update Quicken.
When I downloaded on my PC, if it was the first time it would ask you if you wanted Quicken to process the transactions and then it would also ask you whether you wanted to download information into an existing file.
It does not ask me any of this - instead it just saves a file into my downloads.
How do I download from my online bank account to my Quicken 2008 account in Crossover? Is this even possible? this is intensely frustrating. I purchased my Macbook with the knowledge that it was possible to run Windows software on a Mac using Crossover, VM Fusion or Bootcamp but I was not informed of all the hassle and the fact that I might have to spend a couple of hundred dollars purchasing Windows (the thing I hate and am trying to get away from!) just to be able to manage my bank account!!!
Please help - any/all suggestions, tips and experience is very much appreciated.
Thank you -
Emma
