I downloaded the CrossOver trial to test it yesterday and after a bit of experimenting got some old late 1990s games working perfectly (Jedi Knight and Mysteries Of The Syth). On starting up the computer today, trying to run anything would produce an error saying I hadn't inserted a valid CD ROM even though I had, the same original CDs as I had installed them from.
I restarted and had the same problem. I tried reinstalling and couldn't get them to install at all.
Any suggestions? I was just about to buy the full version of CrossOver and would still like to do so if I can get these games running reliably.
Maybe CrossOver assigned the CD a different drive letter than it did in the original installation and the games hardcode whatever they were installed from.
For Jedi Academy I recommend to install the 1.01 update if you haven't already. Also note that CD based copy protection is working very poorly on OSX. For Jedi Academy it should be OK though, it only checks some files and the disk label.
